MAC JONES AND CO.

 by: Reece Dannenberg

Another week, another Mac Jones injury after the game. But this time it might be a little more serious. Adam Schefter was first to report (per usual) that Jones had suffered a high ankle sprain, “one that would cause most to have surgery” he went on to add. But if there's one thing we've learned about Mac, he is one tough kid who seems to bounce back from injury well and often plays through injury. An injury like this usually takes about 6 weeks to heal, but Jones is still optimistic to play this Sunday in Lambo, but I wouldn’t bet on it. On the other hand, through the first three weeks of the season, McCorkle has 5 INTs and 3 fumbles to only 2 TDs, so MAYBE Brian Hoyer can at least take care of the ball a little better and be more steady and consistent leading the team downfield.

As previously mentioned the Patriots are heading into Lambeau to face Aaron Rodgers and the cheeseheads who have won two straight after being blown out by the Vikings in week 1. This is just the third time in Rodgers’ 15 year career he will be going up against a Bill Belichick led team. Just as we saw last season with Tom Brady’s return to Foxboro, it doesn’t seem to matter the personnel that’s on the field for Belichick, the genius coach always has a plan. One of the few bright spots already in this young season has been the extreme improvement of Deatrich Wise, who has been on the field for 82% of all defensive snaps this season. He leads the team in run stops, and last week he became the Patriots first defensive end to have three sacks in one game since Chandler Jones in 2015. With JC Jackson leaving this offseason and Jason McCourty retiring, this once fierce defense is now looking soft, but with Wise developing into an every-down player he should help this defense still look tough in the run stopping game at least.
